Passengers on an OC Transpo bus in west Ottawa say they got closer to a passing train than they would have liked on Thursday morning. Passenger Lynne Marleau said the bus was right underneath the arms. Marleau’s photo shows a Via Rail train leaving Fallowfield Station and passing in front of the bus.

A male pedestrian is dead and a male driver under arrest after a pair of collisions on Highway 417 near downtown Ottawa late Friday night. Ontario Provincial Police said they were called to Highway 417 near Nicholas Street around 11:50 p.m. Friday.
