CHESAPEAKE When a World War II-era Liberty bus arrived four years ago at St. Brides Correctional Center in the rural, southern half of the city, Robert Robinson saw a heap of rusty, rotting junk. When rescue workers boarded a bus involved in a serious crash at the Route 3A and Forest Street intersection, they found the 11 children and two adult passengers uninjured.
