Central Oregon drug agents pulled over and searched a Frontera Del Norte bus on Highway 97 north of Redmond, finding two pieces of luggage with more than 23 pounds of heroin and methamphetamine worth over $1.1 million, the largest drug bust in street value in the region’s history -- but no arrests so far.

A 5-year-old student was hit by a school bus on Friday, Jackson Public Schools officials said. The Walton Elementary School student got off a school bus at Mayes Street and Redmond Avenue, and was hit by another bus , JPS officials said. The girl suffered unknown injuries and was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, JPS said. Her condition was not immediately available.
