At the bike rack committee’s first meeting last week, Ottumwa Transit Executive Director Diane Gawronski said there “might be some grant money forthcoming from an organization who can help fund the bike racks,” though she was unable to name the organization pending approval of the grant funds. |

At this week’s Ottumwa City Council meeting, Wes Westmoreland said he and a committee are researching and speaking with community members about the viability of installing bike racks on the city’s buses. Westmoreland said he has “plenty of concerns” but will keep researching and appealing to local groups and the City Council to make his vision a reality. |

At Tuesday’s City Council meeting, the councilmen will vote to approve Diane Gawronski as the new director of the OTA, who would take charge next week. She would be in charge of the city bus services as well as the regional service, 10/15 Transit. |
