January 13 2012 - New Haven line commuter fares have increased about 5% New Haven line rail commuters face higher fares now that the new year has begun. The increase, which is about 5%, affects all riders who buy tickets to or from Connecticut stations on the New Haven line and its spur lines. The state Department of Transportation approved the fare hike as a way to help balance Connecticut's budget. The money is not guaranteed to go toward transit spending.
